Hi everyone! If you're over from Jennifer's Book Blog Hop welcome and thanks for stopping by.
This weeks hop question is:
Where is your favorite place to read?
I don't really have a favorite place to read. All the furnature in my apartment is pretty crappy. I guess if I had to pick a place it would have to be on my bed, but not laying normal ways. If I am reading or watching TV on my bed I lay with my head at the end of my bed. I don't know why. Change of scenery I guess?
Now for an update into my bookish life:
This week has been pretty dull as far as reading goes. I read A Streetcar Named Desire for one of my classes, but didn't manage to finish anything else. I feel like I've been reading the same book for weeks now and having recently rediscovered crocheting and just started watching Doctor Who, so reading has kind of fallen to the side this week.
I'm currently reading Great Houses, and while I'm enjoying it I'm having a hard time finishing it. I love Nicole Krauss, and this isn't an exception, but I am not enjoying being defeated by a 280 page novel. I'm waiting for a copy of The Unbearable Lightness of Being to make its way back to the CPL. I'm hoping that some familiar words will get me back into the swing of things.
I feel like I've seen a lot of other bloggers in similar slumps lately. What about you?

I'm still reading a lot, but you're right, Sarah, I've heard other bloggers say they're in a reading slump.
I've got a shelf full of books to read so I'm trying to keep up to speed.
I hope you're enjoying yourself with all the other things you are doing!
Interesting post-I found your blog via the book blog hop and am stopping by to say hello

I also love reading in bed. I'll have to try it swapped the other way round :)

Hopping by to say hello!
I love reading in bed. That's my favorite place to be. LOL
I was afraid I was going into a book slump but I got out of it. Now, though, I've been reading the same book for what feels like forever and I want to move on.

I'm stopping in to say hello. I can read anywhere, but I love to read in my reading room.
I can relate to feeling like I've read the same book forever!Hopefully you'll get through Great Houses
Apartments are hard to find good reading spots, not as much options. I only have one in mine.
I hope you get out of your slump soon, I'm in a mild one. I have Great House sitting in my pile.
Here's my blog hop
Happy HOP! I read mainly on my bed because its the most comfortable and blessedly quiet place in my house :) I go through reading slumps sometimes where the books I try to read just don't spark it for me. It doesn't last too long thank goodness. Happy reading!
Come HOP over to The Bookish Snob
I just pulled out of a slump a few weeks ago; I just couldn't get into any of the books I started, no matter how good they were. But now I'm back into the swing .. it's all cyclical. :)

if i read in bed, i find myself getting super comfy, then feeling kinda tired. . .then i put the book down for just a second, and i'll just close my eyes for just a moment.
and then it's morning.
so i read laying on the comfy sofa on sitting in the kitchen where the light is the best.
I too am in a bit of a reading slump. I'm blaming the weather.

Hopping by from the blog hop. I'm lucky that my apartment has a little room just perfect for reading, so that is where I curl up most of the time. I also read on my bed a lot. I see your icon for a 24 hour readathon. How was that? It sounds like fun!
Stoppin' by from the Hop. Congrats on making your 50 books goal and there's 1.5mos left! ~I'm a new follower (Wonder Woman) and hope you'll return the favor. --Have a great weekend!
Come by and visit me... I've got a giveaway going on.

Hopping by - I'm a new follower. I quite often read upside-down in bed too, it seems more comfy, somehow, to have the book at the end of the bed and my feet stuck under the pillow! And I love the variety of the books over here, it's so nice to come across a really eclectic book blog...
Stop by to see me if you get chance!

Okay, I'll amend that last comment - I WILL be a new follower once I stop getting that stupid no-display error message that sometimes takes over the 'Follow' page when Blogger's throwing a tantrum. I'll keep trying! :-)
Hopping by to say Hi! I've read a lot lately but having problems getting the reviews written! Must be that time of year!
I've been in a bit of a slump too. I am in the middle of reading The mists of Avalon, which is really long, and it seems like I can't do anything else until I get that out of the way. It's definitely been affecting my posting frequency. I did manage to get one review up this week, but that's about it.
I just noticed your list of 2010 books on your sidebar. That's really impressive. 50 books! And they aren't a bunch of easy ones either. That's one of the things I like about your blog. You read a real variety of good books, so your blog never gets boring.
Happy reading, and good luck getting out of your slump!

Yeah I have seen many in a slump, 2 suggestions, try something totally new to you or just take some time off, see if that helps!!

Your post reminded me of who much I love to read before I sleep - and I didnt mention this in my post about the hop!

I end up reading in bed quite a bit myself...I love my bedroom and try to make it as cozy and relaxing as possible :) I'm not in a slump right now...but I have stacks of essays that did not get graded last week :( I'll have to tackle those next week so I imagine I'll have to put my books down for a few days :(
Have fun hopping around this weekend!
I read in bed because there is no other place in our house that I can be beside myself. I need quiet and no distractions.
I hear you. I just got a 600-plus page ARC and it is terrifying me just sitting on my desk.
One of the perks on all this is the compact novel
